What a Difference a Year Makes

Margaret, with Sadie, processing turkeys in preparation for last year's Thanksgiving feast.
This time, last year, Margaret was hugely pregnant and we were just wondering if we’d be able to make it all the way through turkey slaughter day without going into labor. Sadie clearly knew what was expected of a soon-to-be farm girl, and she waited (just barely!) until all the turkeys were processed and in the freezer before making her arrival into the Ten Apple clan.
This year’s turkey slaughter day was equally sunny and crisp, this year filled with the (not-so-anxious) anticipation of celebrating Sadie’s first birthday and second Thanksgiving in the coming days. We have much to be thankful for, and the beginning of Sadie’s second year, is one of those many things. So we’ll start our week of thanksgiving this year with giving thanks to Sadie (and of course, the turkeys). Sadie, we thank you for blessing our lives with your unique spirit and the joy you bring to us, and for being patient and calmly hanging out again this year for our pre-Thanksgiving turkey day.

We are SO excited – and thankful – to have a Ten Apple Turkey this year. Thank you, Margaret, Karl, Sadie, Bea, Charlotte & Turkey.
