We are excited to announce the publication of The Spirit of Food: 34 Writers on Feasting and Fasting toward God, a wonderful collection of essays on food and spirituality, that includes an essay by Margaret about Rosh Hashana on the farm and baking challah with the girls. It also includes Margaret’s challah recipe, which was recently tried (with great success!) and written about by Kay Heritage of the blog The Church Cook. If you visit the post, you can see some wonderful photographs of the challah making process, one of which Kay graciously allowed us to republish here. And don’t forget to check out The Spirit of Food on Amazon and The Spirit of Food on Facebook.

Shabbat Shalom!

My copy of the book just arrived. It’s beautiful and the essay by Margaret makes me want to sit at the table and break bread with her family.
